Montana Paintings

Southeastern Montana contains a fossil-rich geological layer that preserved the last stand of the dinosaurs before a meteor struck the Earth 66 million years ago. I have been excavating dinosaur bones in the area for over a decade with the Carthage Institute of Paleontology housed in the Kenosha Public Museums. These expeditions form the research component of my practice. Drawings, photographs, and writing are produced in the field which are employed to create oil paintings in the studio environment presented here.
